I would love to see them add some effects cymbals and stackers as well as cowbells, gongs, tambourines, and other misc percussion. There are plenty of great sounding kicks, snares, and bongos, but that's about it. One criticism that I have is that the selection of expansion kit pieces is disappointing.
Addictive drums 2 custom software#
This software is great when it's time to actually start making music. Other software or modules are great for playing around with toys at a music store or dreaming about all of the crazy routing contraptions that you will never use in reality. Again, you stay a musician and don't become an engineer. You can hardly find a sound that isn't impeccably recorded and phenomenally musical.
Scrolling through a bunch of fluff trying to find a good sound is exhausting. But everything, I mean EVERYTHING is usable. This software doesn't have as many as some of the competitors, especially modules. Most importantly, you never feel yourself exiting the music making universe and entering the IT universe. The workflow is totally natural and you never find yourself wishing you had more routing. You would think such a setup would be restrictive.until you start using it. In standalone mode, each kit piece is routed 1 to 1 to a fixed channel on your interface, or you can send whatever you want to the main mix bus.
There are MIDI mapping presets for the edrums you already own and there pretty much is no routing. Everybody wants the sound of software over the built-in sounds of modules, but nobody wants to fiddle around with mapping and routing when they could be playing. This is the first software that I've seen that can realistically replace a drum module.
